How to Determine Your Wedding Budget
If you have recently gotten engaged, you probably know all about the things that go into a wedding by now – all the different aspects of the day itself, everything leading up to it and every guest/in-law/brother’s girlfriend that needs to be considered. But there are a few statistics that maybe you weren’t sure about. Don’t worry if your wedding plans are more or less than the range given; there is no problem with being different from the statistic… just use this as a guide line for your preparation, and remember that if you’re stuck for help or consultancy- you are not alone: There is clearly a huge industry out there, just waiting for you to jump in.
First and foremost, there is the issue of budget – this monetary consideration is pretty much the first thing that comes under scrutiny when all planning starts. And so it has been concluded that the average cost of a wedding is $26,984, with one in five costing more than $30,000, and one in eight costing more than $40,000.
The average budget breakdown is as follows:
The rehearsal dinner will cost you around $1,127; you are looking at spending around $540 on your cake; to feed your guests at the wedding itself will cost you $8,601; and wedding favors are around about $222… so you are looking at averaging about $194 per guest.
Your musical accompaniments average to about: $900 on your DJ (this is just a DJ, not a full instrumental band- that will cost you an additional $3,081) and to have the ceremony melodiously signified you’ll pay another $503.
A videographer averages as $1 463 and a photographer at $2 320, having your beautiful occasion forever recorded… however to make your occasion as beautiful as you want it to be $1 988 will get all your floral needs covered, the venue (the single monster costs) averages around $12 124 and to get all those guests there to experience the beautiful day costs $351 (that’s for the invitations).
Finally, to ensure that you are the vision that matches your gorgeous wedding, an engagement ring will cost a whopping $5,392 and the wedding gown weighs in at $1,099, on average.
There are a few other things that can be included in your wedding to add more intimate and personal touches. This is no guideline for all the things you should and should not spend money on; weddings can be costly things, but they are a celebration of one of the most beautiful unifications in the world. Allow yourself to explore the gorgeous, creative, both traditional and unconventional notions that the wedding world has to offer and create the day of your dreams.
